Rita McGurn
Rita McGurn is partly responsible for the existence of iota. Her continuous production of work and the lack of opportunity for the public to enjoy it led us to convert our studio into an art space and seek out a venue to show her 'Off the Hook' collection which, by 2011, comprised more than 50 life-sized sculptures and 75 tableaux.
2014 'Gee-i-ota'
No less prolific than on previous occasions, 'Rita McGurn Live!' produced a fantastic mural at iota.Working in full view of the public, with intermittent sessions varying from one to three hours over the months of January & February 2014, a 5 x 2.5m wall was adorned.
The mural was installed for the month of April, as part of 'Gee-i-ota'.

sOFT SCULPTURE, tABLEAUX & PAINTINGS
It is not a simple task to find a suitable venue to show life sized soft sculptures and tableaux, especially as the longer we looked, the number of works grew.By 2011, 'Off the Hook' comprised more than 50 life-sized sculptures and 75 tableaux.
Thankfully Credential kindly obliged, allowing us to create a temporary Gallery in their Virginia Court premises in the Merchant City area of Glasgow. The show ran for three weeks, to the delight of the near thousand visitors who came upon this transient gallery.
